The leaning tower of Pisa

August 26, 2017 by Heidi Hosgood in Travel, Italy, Western Europe

We studied the Tower of Pisa at school. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing it for real. Such an incredible beautiful and famous piece of architecture. This was our first stop on our Tuscany holiday... we only stopped to see the tower and have some lunch as it was really close to the airport and we couldn't possibly be that close without going to see it! We lay on the grass in the sunshine and watched all the tourists poising for photos. We are ice-creams and found the cutest little cafe for lunch. It was a lovely intro to Tuscany and something I never dreamed I'd actually see when I was sitting my little classroom in Hillcrest!
